MIAMI — Tony Parker led a masterful fourth quarter performance from San Antonio as the Spurs beat the Heat 92-88 in the opening game of the NBA Finals in Miami on Thursday.

The Heat lead 72-69 at the end of the third quarter but were outscored 23-16 in the fourth with Parker sealing the victory with a superb basket just as the shot clock was running out.

Frenchman Parker had a game high 21 points with six assists while Miami's LeBron James, the league's Most Valuable Player, had his lowest scoring game in this postseason with 18.

The win effectively wipes out Miami's home advantage in the best-of-seven series, which continues in South Florida on Sunday.
