CLEVELAND — The reeling Indians have recalled right-hander Carlos Carrasco from Triple-A Columbus to help their tired bullpen.

Carrasco will begin his fourth stint this season today with the Indians, who were swept in four games by Detroit and are a season-high seven games behind the first-place Tigers in the AL Central. Indians manager Terry Francona exhausted his bullpen in the series, forcing him to use utilityman Ryan Raburn to make his big-league pitching debut in Thursday’s 10-3 loss.

Carrasco will be used in a relief role while he’s in Cleveland.

Carrasco is 0-4 with a 9.10 ERA in six starts for the Indians this season. With the Clippers, he went 3-1 with a 3.14 ERA in 14 starts.

To make roster room, the Indians optioned right-hander Preston Guilmet to Columbus.
