Bobcats score late to gain victory over Blue Devils

Bowling Green 29, Springfield 28

BOWLING GREEN — Ricky Riggs threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Emans with 32 seconds left, and Bowling Green converted a two-point conversion to win Friday night in a Northern Lakes League game.

After the dramatic score, Andy Fisher ran a fake extra-point kick attempt to give the Bobcats (2-3, 1-1) the victory.

BG scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Alex Gutierrez recovered a fumble in the end zone to start the quarter.

Fisher scored on a 73-yard run to open the game, and Emans caught a 49-yard TD pass from Riggs.

Elijah Todd of Springfield had three rushing touchdowns to give the Blue Devils a 21-7 advantage. He scored on runs of one, two, and 20 yards. Todd finished with 20 carries for 122 yards.

Aren Harris rushed in from 10 yards out for a third-quarter score, giving the Blue Devils a 28-14 lead.

Maumee 38, Northview 14

Zach Graven hauled in two touchdown passes for the host Panthers (2-3, 1-1), who led 14-0 after the first quarter.

Graven, who had eight receptions for 128 yards, caught a nine-yard TD pass from Brian Utter and a 26-yard pass from Jordan Spellis.

Utter completed 10 of 26 passes for 109 yards, while Spellis was 6 of 10 for 78. Diallo Lane led the Panthers on the ground with six carries for 68 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown. Cahle Puhl and Steve Hill scored twice for Maumee on short runs, and Alex Wagener kicked a 28-yard field goal.

Northview (1-4, 0-2) had Corey Donnelly rush for 82 yards for a touchdown. Preston McCurdy scored on a one-yard run.
