Rebels’ late field attempt blocked, fall 7-6 to Howland

WARREN, Ohio — The Rebels had a game-winning field goal attempt from 30 yards out with 19 second left blocked Friday night.

Bowsher (3-2) took a 6-0 lead in the third quarter on Steve Johnson's two-yard touchdown run. On a two-point conversion attempt Mac Jewell's pass to Mark Washington fell incomplete.

Howland took advantage of three Bowsher penalties on the game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. Howland scored on a 40-yard run.

Bowsher then faced a fourth-and-5 with 19 seconds left, but Khane Collins' 30-yard field goal attempt was blocked.

The Rebels reached the red zone three times but failed to come away with points. Each team had two turnovers.

Delta 38, Rogers 12

DELTA — Jesse Beverly rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers rolled in a nonleague game.

Bailey Storeholder added 50 yards and two scores for Delta (3-2), which had 231 yards rushing and 62 passing.

For the Rams (1-4) Wendell Warren ran 51 yards for a score, and Keon Rayford recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Rogers had 177 yards passing and 38 yards rushing.

Marion Harding 40, Scott 6

L.J. Scott of visiting Marion Harding (2-3) rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns.

Harding’s Keyontay Rogers added two rushing touchdowns.

Trey Brown scored the only Bulldogs’ touchdown on a 21-yard run. Scott (1-4) totaled just 161 total yards.
