Coil's 13 kills lead St. Ursula volleyball in 3-0 sweep of Perrysburg

Loss snaps Yellow Jackets' 20-match winning streak

BOWLING GREEN -- Playing perhaps its best all-around match of the season tonight, the top-ranked St. Ursula volleyball team made short work of ninth-ranked Perrysburg, taking a 25-15, 25-15, 25-19 victory in a Division I district final at the Stroh Center.

The Arrows (26-0) got a balanced attack led by Elizabeth Coil’s 13 kills. Morgan Finn contributed nine kills, and Lauren Daudelin and Lauran Graves added seven apiece for the Three Rivers Athletic Conference champions.

St. Ursula was paced defensively by Maurissa Leonard’s 19 digs, and sisters Ryann and Jayme Cox added 10 apiece. Setters Emily Lydey and Madelyn McCabe had 21 and 18 assists, respectively.

Perrysburg (23-3), which saw its 20-match winning streak snapped, got 10 kills from Audra Appold and eight from Savannah Miller, and setter Chloe Matuga had 29 assists. The Yellow Jackets’ defense was paced by 12 digs from Appold and 11 from Miller.
