MAC football teams to play in Miami Beach Bowl
10/24/2013The Mid-American Conference today announced a tie-in with the newly created Miami Beach Bowl, which will be played in Marlins Park in Miami starting in 2014.
The MAC will play in the bowl in the 2016 and ’18 bowl seasons, facing a team from the American Athletic Conference as part of a rotation with Conference USA and the Sun Belt.
Television and title sponsorships for the new bowl have not been determined.
The Miami Beach Bowl is the latest in a series of bowl announcements, following the Camellia Bowl (Montgomery, Ala.), Boca Raton Bowl (Boca Raton, Fla.) and the Bahamas Bowl (Nassau, Bahamas), that will insure the MAC has five bowl partnerships through the 2018 season.
The MAC also will send bowl-eligible teams to the GoDaddy.com Bowl (Mobile, Ala.) and the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (Boise, Idaho).
