BEREA, Ohio — Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden says he’s still “100 percent confident” in his abilities and hopes to start again in the NFL after being benched this week.

Two straight poor performances cost Weeden his starting job. He’s been replaced by Jason Campbell, who will start Sunday when Cleveland visits the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs. Weeden didn’t make any excuses for his ineffectiveness, and said he’ll “never be a guy who points the finger. I had plenty of opportunities to make plays.”

Weeden promised to be ready in case he’s called upon again. He came off the bench earlier this season and rallied the Browns to a win over Buffalo after Brian Hoyer sustained a season-ending knee injury.

Weeden is confident he’ll get another opportunity to start, and the 30-year-old said he wants to stay in Cleveland.
