BEREA, Ohio — Heidelberg University running back Cartel Brooks had a good month.

Brooks, a junior from Galion, set an NCAA All-Division record with 465 yards on 38 carries along with three touchdowns.

Heidelberg defeated Baldwin Wallace University 42-14.

Brooks' mark surpassed the record set earlier this year by Western Connecticut's Octavius McKoy, who rushed for 455 yards in October.

"We had a good game today," Brooks said. "This could be our last game, so we wanted to play well for our seniors. I just followed my blocks."

D-II RECORD SET: Tusculum's Bo Cordell set an NCAA Division II record for career total offense in his final college game Saturday while throwing for 569 yards in a 49-42 victory over Mars Hill.

Cordell went 34 of 56 with five touchdown passed and two interceptions Saturday to close his college career with 16,432 total yards. That broke the record of Jimmy Terwilliger, who had 16,064 yards in total offense for East Stroudsburg from 2003-06.

Cordell already owned the NCAA Division II career records for yards passing and pass completions. Cordell's final career totals rank him third in yards passing (16,265) and completions (1,397), and fourth in total offense among all players regardless of classification.

Houston Texans quarterback Case Keenum holds the NCAA overall career record in total offense. Keenum gained 20,114 yards in total offense for Houston.
