Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo combined to sweep the Mid-American Conference women's basketball players of the week awards announced today.
BG guard Jillian Halfhill was named MAC East Division player of the week, while UT forward Inma Zanoguera received the same honor for the West Division.
Halfhill led the Falcons to a 3-1 record last week, averaging 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. The senior scored six points at Butler, 16 against Marist, 12 (with eight rebounds) against Old Dominion and 13 (with five boards and six assists) as BG beat Ohio State for the first time since 1975.
Zanoguera led six Rockets in double figures with a game-high 21 points in a win at UMKC Wednesday. She also led Toledo with nine rebounds and added three steals and two assists.
