Two players with Toledo ties were named Mid-American Conference men's basketball players of the week today.
Start High School grad Anthony Henderson from Bowling Green State University won the honor for the East Division, while the University of Toledo's Julius "Juice" Brown was honored on the West Division.
Henderson, a junior guard, scored 13 points in the Falcons' home win over Central Michigan Wednesday, then had a career-high 27 in BG's win at Western Michigan Sunday. He made seven 3-pointers to help the Falcons overcome a 15-point second-half deficit and beat the Broncos.
Brown, a junior guard from Markham, Ill., had 20 points and six assists in a win over Buffalo Wednesday, including the buzzer-beating game winner in the Rockets' 67-65 home win. He then scored a season-high 25 points to lead UT to a 75-61 win at Akron.
