Columbus catcher Luke Carlin hit a three-run double in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Clippers to a 4-2 win over the Mud Hens tonight.

Toledo carried a 2-1 lead into the top of the ninth thanks to an Andy Dirks single that brought home Brandon Douglas with two outs in the fifth. The Hens other run came home on a second-inning home run by Mike Hessman, his 24th homer of the season.

The blown save by Hens closer Kevin Whelan ruined a strong pitching performance that included six strong innings by starter Mike Belfiore and one scoreless inning by Pat McCoy and Justin Miller.
