Brianna Shook, a former All-American and a current assistant track and field coach at the University of Toledo, has been chosen to represent the United States at the Ekiden Road Relay Championships in Beijing on April 10.
Shook, the U.S. record-holder in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, will run the 5,000-meter leadoff leg for Team USA.
In the Ekiden Relay, each country sends six of its top
distance runners to race over the course of a marathon.
