    BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University football team hammered Tulsa 34-7 in its season opener at Doyt Perry Stadium tonight.

    Freshman William Houston scored three touchdowns on 1-yard runs, and Ryan Burbrink added a 67-yard punt return for the Falcons other TD in their season opener.

    Tyler Tate added field goals of 34 and 28 yards as BG led 6-0 at halftime.

    Tulsa scored its lone touchdown on a 27-yard TD pass from Dane Evans to Derek Patterson with just 5:56 left in the fourth quarter.
