BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University football team added another Big Ten school to its future schedule Monday as it announced a 2024 contest against Penn State.

The Falcons will take on the Nittany Lions in State College, Pa., on Sept. 7, 2024. That is one of two Big Ten teams BG will play that season, as the Falcons also will face Maryland on the road two weeks later.

Bowling Green’s future schedule features a number of games against Big Ten opponents, including a home contest against Maryland on Sept. 8, 2018. The Falcons will play at Ohio State and at Illinois in 2020, and will play at Minnesota in both 2021 and 2025.

Last season the Falcons played at Michigan State and at Northwestern, and in 2016 BG played at Ohio State. The 2015 team won at Maryland and at Purdue, and in 2014 BG defeated Indiana at Doyt Perry Stadium before losing at Wisconsin the following Saturday.

Bowling Green, which posted a 2-10 record that included a 2-6 mark in Mid-American Conference play last season, will open the 2018 schedule at Oregon on Sept. 1.
