With only seven-and-a-half hours of practice during a brutally hot week, the defenses had the upper hand on Friday night in the 22nd annual Regional All-Star football game.

Points were tough to come by in the exhibition game featuring recently graduated high school standouts at Perrysburg Junior High School. The Black team forced three turnovers and emerged with a 17-7 win at Steinecker Stadium.

Swanton's Casey McCaw came up with a fumble recovery and returned an interception for a touchdown for the Black team.

With his Black team up 10-7 early in the fourth quarter, McCaw picked off a desperation heave by Gold quarterback Jake Schneider from the end zone and took in from 3 yards out for a 17-7 lead with 10 minutes, 6 seconds left.

"I was going crazy. I barely knew what to do," McCaw said. "They were pushing him to the ground and he threw it up there and that was just an amazing feeling."
