    What to know

    ■ Michigan's running back duo of Karan Higdon and Chris Evans only combined for 73 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries at Notre Dame.

    ■ Michigan is 32-1 all-time versus schools from the Mid-American Conference. The lone loss came in 2008 to the University of Toledo.

    ■ In a 55-42 loss to Syracuse last week, Western Michigan accumulated 621 yards off offense — 452 coming in the second half. Quarterback Jon Wassink had 379 yards passing and three touchdowns. Receiver D'Wayne Eskridge caught eight passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns, and Jayden Reed had seven catches for 121 yards and one touchdown. Tailback LeVante Bellamy rushed for 120 yards on 11 carries with two scores.
