Simon Denis had three assists and Pat Nagle stopped 30 of 32 shots as the Walleye defeated the Beast 5-2 Friday night in Brampton.
Christian Hilbrich opened the scoring at 4:01 of the second period to give the Walleye a 1-0 lead. Erik Bradford made it a 2-0 Walleye lead at 8:33 of the second. Brampton cut the lead to 2-1 at 10:59 of the second.
Connor Crisp extended the Walleye lead to 3-1 at 19:41 of the second.
Brampton pulled within a goal on the power play to make it 3-2 at 9:04 of the third period.
Kyle Bonis gave the Walleye a 4-2 lead at 19:11 with an empty net goal. Austen Brassard made it a 5-2 game at 19:48 of the third.
The Walleye are now 15-7-2-1 on the season and 8-4-2-1 on the road.
The Walleye are 22-3-2 all-time against Brampton.
The Walleye return home Saturday for a 7:15 p.m. puck drop against Atlanta and Sunday for a 5:15 p.m. start against Kalamazoo.
