MOLINE, Ill. — Toledo defeated the host Mallards 3-2 on Wednesday night as goalie Pat Nagle stopped 42 of 44 shots.

Kyle Bonis scored at 1:36 of the first period to put the Walleye up 1-0. Shane Berschbach sent a perfect pass to A.J. Jenks, who then tipped the puck into the back of the net to extend the Walleye lead to 2-0 at 12:23 of the period.

Nagle came up big during the second and third periods, stopping 29 of 31 shots. The Mallards cut the Walleye lead to 2-1 with a power-play goal that beat Nagle at 7:41 of the second period.

At 11:11 of the third period, Tyler Barnes flipped the puck behind Mallards goaltender C.J. Motte to give the Walleye a 3-1 lead.

Quad City cut the lead to 3-2 at 11:39 of the third.
