UT to host NCAA women’s tourney

University of Toledo and Savage Arena have been selected as one of 16 sites to host first and second round action in the 2014 NCAA women’s basketball tournament.

Games will be played March 22 or 24 and March 23 or 25. Exact dates and ticket information will be announced at a later date.

This is Toledo’s first time hosting games in the NCAA tournament.

In addition to Toledo, other first and second round sites include Ames, Iowa; Baton Rouge; Chapel Hill, N.C.; College Park, Md.; College Station, Texas; Durham, N.C.; Iowa City, Iowa; Knoxville, Tenn.; Lexington, Ky.; Los Angeles; Seattle; Storrs, Conn.; University Park, Pa; Waco, Texas, and West Lafayette, Ind.

The four selected regional sites are Lincoln, Neb.; Louisville; South Bend, Ind., and Stanford, Calif.
