Walleye's Parkes named ECHL player of the week

Toledo Walleye forward Trevor Parkes has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 25 to March 3.

Parkes scored six goals and added five assists in four games last week. The forward had two goals and an assist Feb. 26 at Fort Wayne, and had an assist in a 6-3 loss last Thursday at Evansville. Parkes scored three goals and had an assist Saturday at the Huntington Center in a 7-1 win over Evansville, then scored a goal and two assists in a 5-4 loss in overtime Sunday against Trenton at the Huntington Center.

Parkes has seven goals and eight assists in seven games this season with the Walleye. On behalf of Parkes, a case of pucks will be donated to a Toledo youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL.
