Walleye lose leading scorer Parkes to AHL

The Toledo Walleye have lost their leading scorer to a call up to the American Hockey League.

Forward Trevor Parkes, who leads the Walleye in all scoring categories, has been assigned to Grand Rapids.

Parkes leads Toledo in goals scored with 13, in assists (11), and in points (24) in 21 games this season.

Since beginning his pro career in the 2011-12 season, Parkes has split his playing time between the Walleye and the Griffins. The 22-year-old has tallied 58 points (31 G, 27 A) in his career.

Last season, Parkes had five points in six playoff games for the Walleye.

Toledo also lost forward Louis-Marc Aubry to a call up to Grand Rapids.

Aubry, 22, has played in nine games with the Walleye this season and has five points (3 goals and 2 assists).

Toledo (7-11-3) plays at Evansville on Wednesday night at 8:15 p.m.
