Automatic Feed spinoff cut metal with lasers

NAPOLEON — Automatic Feed Co. has formed a spinoff company called LaserCoil Technologies LLC.

The company, based on patented technology developed by AFCO over the past five years, will focus on laser cutting of blanks from coil in aluminum, steel, and other materials.

LaserCoil Technologies says it will continue to advance the technology for application to the automotive, aerospace, agriculture, appliance, and other industries.

A spokesman said Automatic Feed has 72 employees in Napoleon and 130 overall. LaserCoil has 5 employees.
