WARREN, Mich. — General Motors Co. says it hopes to have all 19,000 employees and contract workers back in their buildings at the automaker’s Tech Center in Warren by Friday.

The GM Tech Center shut Aug. 12 when floods ravaged the Detroit suburb after record rain.

A GM spokesman told the Detroit News that as of Monday, 15,500 employees and contractors were working from the Tech Center. She said 3,500 others are working remotely and from other sites.
