BLADE STAFF

Coach: Scott Seeliger, second year

Last season: 3-7, 2-5 NLL

Returning letter winners: 15

Returning starters: Offense 7, defense 7

Schemes: Spread/4-4

Top players: Seniors Ryan Emans, 6-1, 175, DB/WR; David Espen, 5-10, 185, LB/RB. Junior Manny Carrillo, 6-3, 220, DL/OL.

Outlook: Seeliger, a former college assistant coach at Bowling Green and Wisconsin, enters his second year with 42 players on the varsity.

He has 13 seniors led by Emans, who earned All-NLL first team honors, catching 32 passes for 554 (17.3 per catch) and seven touchdowns.

Espen led BG in rushing with 429 yards on 88 carries (4.9 average) and scored six touchdowns. Carrillo led the Bobcats in sacks.

Seeliger cites experience as his team's top attribute. But he said lack of depth and size are the main concerns.

“Our players worked hard this summer and are coming together as a team,” Seeliger said. “The key will be how we compete, and the intensity that we play with.”
