BLADE STAFF

Coach: Mike Lee, second year

Last season: 2-8, 0-7 TRAC

Returning letter winners: 31

Returning starters: Offense 3, defense 2

Schemes: Wing-T/5-2

Top players: Seniors Joe Kiss, 6-2, 240, C; Aaron Seymour, 6-0, 190, TB-LB; Tyler Mildenburger, 5-9, 165, WB-DB; Blaze Okey, 5-11, 240, TE-DE; Ryan Fournier, 5-11, 180, WB-DB. Juniors Trenton Gast, 6-2, 230, G-DE; Josh Harrison, 6-2, 240, G-DT; Lorenzo Levally, 6-0, 170, WR-DB.

Outlook: The Eagles may experience some growing pains this season. Although there are 75 players (21 seniors), 17 of the 22 offensive and defensive starting positions will be filled by new personnel.

Lee likes his players’ work ethic and commitment, but his biggest concern is the overall lack of experience. The biggest losses to graduation offensively were receiver Kyle Row and quarterback Josh Pennington.

“Our young men have worked very hard this offseason,” Lee said. “Their final results should not be measured in wins and losses but the small victories they have accomplished. We know we have a major mountain to climb, and we are accepting the challenge.”
