St. John’s captures 3rd TRAC crown in a row

Central’s Delp a 3-time No. 1 singles champ

St. John’s Jesuit won its third straight Three Rivers Athletic Conference tennis tournament, while Central Catholic’s Dugan Delp took the No. 1 singles title for the third consecuitve year Saturday at Jermain Park.

Delp, a senior, knocked off Findlay’s Reid Teatsorth 6-1, 6-4 in for the No. 1 singles championship. St. John’s junior Adam Zychowicz took the No. 2 singles crown, defeating Max MacDonald of Findlay 6-3, 6-0.

Kevin Brown of St. John’s came away with the No. 3 singles title, topping Findlay sophomore Jake Elbin 6-0, 6-0.

Jonah Carter and Ryan Brown of St. John’s took down Findlay’s Ian Laird and Brent Gorman 6-1, 6-4 to win the No. 1 doubles title. The Titans’ Trevor Majdalani and Ryan Issa won the No. 1 doubles final over Lucas Kasper and Javier Gomez of St. Francis, 6-1, 6-0.

St. John’s won the tournament with 38 points, followed by Findlay (34) and St. Francis (29). The Titans also captured the overall season title, which factors in both regular season and tournament finishes.
