Falcons win 49-0 at home over Ohio

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University football team claimed a 49-0 victory over Ohio at Doyt Perry Stadium tonight.

The Falcons got the only touchdown of the final quarter following an 82-yard interception return by BooBoo Gates. BG quarterback Matt Schilz hit Ronnie Moore with a 24-yard scoring strike at 13:04 of the period.

Bowling Green improves to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in Mid-American Conference play. The win, combined with Buffalo's loss at Toledo, lifts the Falcons into a first-place tie with the Bulls in the MAC East.

Ohio falls to 6-4 and 3-3.

 

THIRD QUARTER

The Bowling Green State University football team leads Ohio 42-0 after three quarters at Doyt Perry Stadium tonight.

The Falcons scored the only touchdown of the third quarter, and it came on a 57-yard touchdown pass from Matt Johnson to Alex Bayer at 12:41 of the quarter.

Bowling Green has 435 yards of total offense through three quarters, including 206 yards rushing, while the Bobcats have just 118 yards of total offense, including just 25 yards on the ground.

 

HALFTIME

The Bowling Green State University football team leads Ohio 35-0 at halftime at Doyt Perry Stadium tonight.

The Falcons scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter. William Houston scored on a one-yard run for his second TD of the contest, while Travis Greene added his second scoring run with a 16-yard TD jaunt late in the quarter.

Bowling Green had 324 yards of total offense in the first half, including 170 yards rushing. The Bobcats had just 44 yards of total offense in the first half, including just 15 yards on eight rushes.

 

FIRST QUARTER

The Bowling Green State University football team leads Ohio 21-0 after one quarter at Doyt Perry Stadium tonight.

The Falcons scored on an 11-yard touchdown run by Travis Greene at 12:55 of the period, a 32-yard pass from Matt Johnson to Heath Jackson at 11:49; and a one-yard run by William Houston at 3:51.

BG's defense allowed Ohio just nine yards of total offense, including minus-two yards rushing.
