Falcons punter named MAC special teams player of week

BOWLING GREEN -- Bowling Green State University punter Brian Schmiedebusch has been named Mid-American Conference East Division special teams player of the week, the league announced today.

Schmiedebusch, a senior from Ottawa-Glandorf High School, averaged 43.0 yards on four punts in the Falcons 49-0 win over Ohio Tuesday. He had a pair of punts downed inside the Bobcats' 20-yard line, and his longest punt of the day traveled 50 yards.

Because of a negative return, BG averaged 44.0 yards per punt thanks the Schmiedebusch.
