ATHENS, Ohio — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team posted a 58-56 win at Ohio today, marking the second straight game the Falcons overcame a double-digit deficit to win a Mid-American Conference road game.

BG (9-9, 3-2 MAC) outscored the Bobcats 8-2 in a four-minute span late in the second half. Spencer Parker scored 16 points to lead the Falcons, while Jehvon Clarke had 15, and Richaun Holmes 12.

T.J. Hall finished with 15 points to lead Ohio (13-4, 3-1), while Maurice Ndour scored 12, and Nick Kellogg 10.

Ohio used an early 13-0 run to take a 15-4 lead, but Bowling Green answered with a 14-1 spurt to go ahead 18-16 midway through the first half. From that point the game was a nip-and-tuck affair that featured nine ties and 10 lead changes, including six ties and nine lead changes in the first half alone.

The game’s last tie coming on a basket by Ndour that made the score 50-50 with 5:46 to play. After an Ohio free throw, Parker made a tough shot in the lane to give BG the lead for good with 5:16 left, and a dunk by Holmes soon after made it 54-51.

With 2:24 left and the Falcons’ lead cut to one, Clarke tipped an OU pass to Anthony Henderson, who then found Clarke for a layup with 2:21 left.

After an Ohio miss, Clarke’s jumper gave the Falcons a 58-53 lead with 1:31 to play. Hall made a 3-pointer with 1:07 showing, but BG extended its next possession so that the Bobcats didn’t get the ball back until 13.8 seconds were left.

Bowling Green forced Kellogg to miss a contested 3-pointer at the buzzer to snap a four-game road losing streak to Ohio.
