Michigan Tech defeats BGSU hockey 5-2

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bowling Green State University hockey team suffered a 5-2 loss to Michigan Tech at the BG Ice Arena tonight.

David Johnstone scored twice for the Huskies (9-14-6, 7-8-4 Western Collegiate Hockey Association), who also got goals from Malcolm Gould, Tanner Kero and Jacob Johnstone.

Brent Tate scored in the second period and Ralfs Freibergs added a power-play goal late in the final period for the Falcons (13-11-5, 10-8-3 WCHA).

Pheonix Copley finished with 19 saves for Michigan Tech. Tomas Sholl started in goal for BG and allowed four goals on 15 shots, while Tommy Burke had 11 saves in relief for the Falcons.
