BGSU switches football opener to Aug. 29

BOWLING GREEN -- The date for the Bowling Green State University football team's season-opening contest has been switched to Friday, Aug. 29.

Western Kentucky, which will host the Falcons in BG's season opener, announced today that it was switching the date of the contest from Thursday, Aug. 28 "at the request of Conference USA to accommodate the league's television partners," according to a release.

No time has been set for the game, and no television details were released.

The Falcons will host their spring game on Saturday, April 5 starting at noon at Doyt Perry Stadium.
