A RE-FASHIONShow and Auction for Eduardo's Ears was Saturday at Stone Oak Country Club. More than 100 women gathered to help raise more than $8,500 for reconstructive surgery for a young boy named Eduardo, who was born in Mexico with no ears.
Models wore outfits found in their closets or from consignment shops.

MARDI GRAS was the theme for this year's Ghoulwill Ball for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio. The Saturday event transformed the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg into a New Orleans-style dance hall festooned with floats, green, purple, and gold beads, Cajun food, a silent auction, and music by The Rivets.
About 250 guests helped net $17,000.
DANBERRY Treasure Chest Charity Auction Dinner "An Evening Under the Stars" Oct. 24 at the Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons netted more than $40,000. The 19th annual event was organized by event chairmen Stan Rinda and Tim Schlachter.
The Danberry Treasure Chest is an emergency assistance fund for direct financial assistance to families of a child with chronic illnesses. Since its inception, more than $410,000 has been raised for the fund which is administered by the Toledo Children's Hospital Foundation.
Lynn Fruth, CEO of Danberry welcomed everyone. The guest family of honor was the Smiths: Aaron, Ashley, and Maddy.
Dick Baker, president of Danberry, announced that Melissa Utterback was the winner of the new GLK 350 Mercedes Benz SUV 12 month/12,000 mile lease donated by Coppus Motors.
Among the about 280 guests were Dr. Amy Culler, Dr. Richard Munk, Kevin Webb, Barbara Steele, Christi Rotterdam, Eric Fankhauser, Lynn and Karen Fruth, Dick and Lynn Baker, David and Judy Miller, and John and Jennifer Coppus.
THE ninth annual Kaleidoscope of Children Fund-raising Breakfast to benefit Double ARC raised $50,000 in just one hour. The breakfast Oct. 22 at the Pinnacle was for Double ARC, a non- profit organization for children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders and their families. It is a ministry of the Sisters of Notre Dame.
Featured were three parents who spoke about the struggles of raising a child with the disorders: Terri Bryan, Holly Hough, and John Shaffer, all parents who adopted children with FASD.
Among the more than 300 attendees were board chairman Bill Schmidt and wife Anne, Kate Savage, Adele Jasion, Barbara Gunning, Steve and Mary Malia, Michelle Putz, and Sr. Mary Delores Gatliff, provincial, of the Sisters of Notre Dame.
