Man shot in the face in East Toledo, police say injuries not life threatening

A man was shot in the face late Monday at a house in East Toledo, authorities said.

Tyrone Cleveland, whose age and address were not released,  was taken to Mercy St. Charles Hospital, according to Toledo police. A hospital spokesman said his condition was unavailable. Police said the man's injuries were likely not life threatening.

Police found the victim about 11:40 p.m. on the porch of a house in the unit block of Garfield Place suffering from a gunshot wound to the face, police said. The victim told police he was shot inside the house by an unknown person who fled.

The shooting remains under investigation.
