Report: OSU lands graduate transfer from Alabama

4/22/2014

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State football team is counting on a graduate transfer from Alabama to help fortify its rebuilt offensive line.

Fifth-year senior center Chad Lindsay chose the Buckeyes over Michigan and Oklahoma among other suitors to play his final season, according to a report by CBSSports.com.

An OSU spokesman could not confirm the report.

Lindsay, a former three-star recruit from The Woodlands, Texas, who started four games for the Crimson Tide last season, will be eligible to play immediately as he pursues his master’s degree. He instantly becomes the top candidate to start at center on a line that must replace four starters, though he also has experience at guard.

Junior left tackle Taylor Decker and sophomore guard Pat Elflein are the only two declared starters, leaving the remaining three spots open for competition in fall camp. Junior Jacoby Boren and redshirt freshman Billy Price shared snaps at center during the spring.
