Toledo and Appalachian State meet in the Dollar General Bowl after playing each other in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl last season.

With Toledo set for a rematch against Appalachian State in the Dollar General Bowl in Mobile, Ala., here is a look back at the 31-28 win for the Mountaineers in last year’s Raycom Media Camellia Bowl.

Appalachian State kicked a field goal with 5:14 left that ended up being the difference in the game. Toledo drove down the field late for one last scoring opportunity, but a 30-yard field goal attempt by Jameson Vest sailed wide right with 1:48 left in the game.

Kareem Hunt became Toledo’s all-time leading rusher after his 120-yard performance in the bowl game. His 4,945 yards pass the previous mark of 4,849 held by Chester Taylor from 1998-2001.

Logan Woodside added two touchdowns to his record-setting single-season TD mark, giving him 45 for the season.

Cody Thompson caught five passes for 99 yards giving him 1,269 yards in the season, which is good for the single-season receiving yards record at UT.

The game was tight throughout and was tied four different times.

If this year’s game is anything like last year’s matchup then fans will be in for a treat.
