    Notes: The Falcons will look to avenge an 11-point loss to the Cardinals in the Mid-American Conference home opener when the two teams play in Muncie, Ind. … In the first meeting of these two teams, Caterrion Thompson hit six 3-poointers on the way to 21 points, while Carly Santoro had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. … But those performances were not enough to avoid an 84-73 loss, Ball State’s seventh straight win in the series. … The Cardinals were picked to finish second in the MAC’s West Division in the league’s preseason poll after posting a 21-11 overall record and 14-4 MAC mark last season. … All five BSU starters score in double figures, led by Moriah Monaco’s 16.6 points per game. … Carmen Grande averages 12.4 points per game and ranks second among Division I players with her 9.7 assists per contest. … BG point guard Sydney Lambert has scored 40 points in the last three games after netting just 19 in the previous five. … After this contest the Falcons return to the Stroh Center to host arch-rival Toledo on Saturday at 2 p.m.
