    Toledo men crush Bowling Green, 101-75

    A blistering shooting display and an all-around efficient performance lifted the University of Toledo men’s basketball team to a 101-75 win Saturday against Bowling Green State University at Savage Arena.

    Toledo’s offense was too much for Bowling Green to overcome, as the Rockets topped their rival for the eighth time in the past nine Battle of I-75 matchups and won their seventh consecutive game overall. FULL STORY ■ PHOTO GALLERY ■ VIDEO

    Sharp-shooting Rocket women beat BG at Stroh Center

    BOWLING GREEN — To say the University of Toledo women’s basketball team has been struggling to hit 3-pointers in Mid-American Conference play would be an understatement.

    But the Rockets found their stroke from behind the 3-point line Saturday and rode that sharp shooting to a 77-67 victory against Bowling Green in front of 2,103 fans at the Stroh Center. FULL STORY/PHOTO GALLERY ■ VIDEO

     

    BGSU hockey holds off Lake Superior State

    SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — Bowling Green State University scored three goals in the first period Saturday and held on to beat Lake Superior State 3-2 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association road contest.

    The Falcons, ranked No. 15 in the country entering the weekend, now have won four in a row. BG swept the weekend series with the Lakers after claiming a 5-3 victory Friday.

    The win also was the 100th victory for BG as a member of the WCHA. FULL STORY
