Falcons rally, beat Kent State
BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team has played some ugly halves of basketball recently.
And the first 10 minutes of Saturday’s game against Kent State may have trumped all of them as the Golden Flashes scored the game’s first 11 points and built a 29-10 lead midway through the period.
“They hit some tough shots, and I thought we were playing hard – but we were rushing our offense,” BG’s Justin Turner said. “But we didn’t panic.”

Rockets rebound with win at Akron
AKRON — The University of Toledo men’s basketball regained its swagger in a 77-56 win Saturday against Akron at James A. Rhodes Arena.
One game after Toledo was out-hustled and out-muscled on the glass in a home loss to Ball State which snapped its seven-game win streak, the Rockets controlled the boards and rebounded with an emphatic road victory. FULL STORY

Toledo falls at home to Buffalo
University of Toledo junior center Kaayla McIntyre scored a career-high 30 points, but it wasn’t enough for Toledo to overcome the potent offense of Buffalo as the Rockets fell 84-73 to the Bulls on Saturday afternoon at Savage Arena.
Buffalo, the second-highest scoring team in the Mid-American Conference, boasted a balanced offensive effort led by Cierra Dillard’s 21 points. Summer Hemphill added 18 points for the Bulls (17-4, 8-2 MAC), Cassie Oursler scored 15, and Stephanie Reid had 13. FULL STORY ■ PHOTO GALLERY ■ VIDEO
Falcons lose at home to RedHawks
BOWLING GREEN — On the game’s key possession, the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team put together a strong defensive effort.
That was not enough Saturday.

BOWLING GREEN — The Bowling Green State University hockey team had a lot of things going for it Saturday.
There was the momentum from a 7-2 victory over Michigan Tech Friday, and Saturday’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association contest drew a crowd of 4,175 — the largest at the Slater Family Ice Arena this season — as the Falcons honored their four seniors.
