A man who had marijuana in his shoe when he turned himself at the Lucas County jail for an unrelated shooting incident was sent to prison Tuesday for one year.

Ramone Young, 32, of 16 Prescott St., had pleaded guilty Aug. 27 to one count of illegal conveyance of drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility. Prosecutors asked Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart to dismiss a charge of felonious assault with a firearms specification as part of a plea agreement with Young and because the victim in the case was uncooperative.

Young had been charged with shooting Leon Blackwell, 32, in the leg in the 200 block of Pulaski Street May 28.
