Woman convicted in Sept. carryout holdup

A Toledo woman was convicted Tuesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court of robbing a West Toledo convenience store.

Virginia Wilcox, 34, entered an Alford plea to aggravated robbery in the Sept. 27 hold-up at the In & Out Mart, 5830 Douglas Rd., and was found guilty by Judge Myron Duhart, who scheduled sentencing for Jan. 7.

In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit to committing a crime but acknowledges evidence is sufficient for a conviction. The court treats it as a guilty plea.
