Seven Toledo men were named in a federal indictment unsealed Friday that alleges they conspired to bring crack and powder cocaine from Texas to northwest Ohio.

Charged with conspiring to possess cocaine and crack cocaine with intent to distribute were: Gale Shelmon, 47; Percy Underwood, 47; Bryant Anderson, 34; Larry Jones, 45; Justin Toler, 37; Creston White, 61, and Darryl Brown, 28.

According to federal prosecutors, beginning in June, 2012, the men allegedly obtained “substantial quantities” of cocaine from Texas and transported it to Toledo.

The indictments follow a two-year investigation by the FBI and the Toledo Metro Drug Task Force. The probe was accepted as an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation, which directs the most sophisticated resources against large-scale drug trafficking ventures.
