A fourth suspect charged with the death of a carryout owner, who was shot and killed in his home last year, was arrested today in North Toledo.

Charged with murder is Phillip Allen, Jr., 22, who was indicted in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery.

He's implicated in the death of James Safadi, 34, who was shot and killed on May 18 at his South River Road home in Waterville Township.

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Toledo police arrested Mr. Allen early today after a month spent searching for their suspect.

Last week, law enforcement officials received information that pointed them to a possible hideout for Mr. Allen. After conducting surveillance, a home in the 2900 block of Ontario Street was searched and Mr. Allen was found hiding in the attic, officials said.

A second man at the residence, Joel Brown, was arrested for obstruction of justice and weapons under disability. Authorities said they found a loaded .380-caliber handgun inside the residence.

Mr. Brown is to appear in Toledo Municipal Court for arraignment Thursday.
