A Toledo man who struck and injured a road-repair worker with his car pleaded no contest Wednesday to vehicular assault.

Robert Sinkey, 25, of 1001 Mott Ave. also entered guilty pleas in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to charges of failure to comply with a police officer's order and grand theft of a motor vehicle. Judge Michael Goulding found him guilty and set sentencing for Feb. 19.

Sinkey struck Jarred James, 20, of Toledo near Collingwood Boulevard and Floyd Street on Oct. 21, then got out of his car, stole a pickup, and fled to the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge, where police captured him.
