A Toledo man charged with attempting to hide a murder suspect was indicted Thursday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Joel Brown, 25, of 2924 N. Ontario St. was indicted for obstructing justice and having weapons while under disability.

Brown was arrested Jan. 29 when Toledo police and U.S. Marshals went to the North Ontario Street address in search of Phillip Allen, Jr., 22, who was wanted for aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary for the May 18 death of James Safadi in his Waterville Township home.

Allen was found hiding in the attic, while Brown, a convicted felon barred from having a firearm, was allegedly in possession of a .380-caliber handgun.
