The trial of a liquor store employee charged with selling a bottle of vodka to a minor was postponed today in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Nicholas Thompson, 38, of 340 S. Reynolds Rd., is charged with a misdemeanor count of selling or furnishing intoxicating liquor to a minor.

An employee of Foxx Liquor Store, 5341 Dorr St., Mr. Thompson allegedly sold a bottle of vodka Feb. 1, 2013 to a friend of Brian Hoeflinger, 18, an Ottawa Hills High School senior who was killed that night after drinking at a friend’s birthday party and then driving.

Judge James Bates agreed to postpone the trial until March 25 because of problems defense attorneys raised regarding video recordings taken at Foxx Liquor during an April 16 raid at the store.
