A Toledo man was indicted Wednesday by a Lucas County grand jury for the death of a taxi driver.

Curtis McDuffey, Jr., 31, of 2829 Eldora Dr. faces one count of involuntary manslaughter for the death last year of William Moore, 66.

According to police, Mr. McDuffey got into a fight with the victim April 28 outside Church’s on Monroe, 4477 Monroe St., where Mr. Moore was looking for fares. The victim, who had a history of heart disease, died at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center on May 5, and his death was ruled a homicide by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office in November.

In an unrelated case, Mr. McDuffey is charged in Lucas County Common Pleas Court with two counts of endangering children for injuries suffered by his 2-month-old twin sons last year.
