COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Supreme Court won’t hear a woman’s appeal of her aggravated murder conviction for burning her baby daughter to death in a microwave oven.

The court didn’t explain its decision not to hear the appeal by 34-year-old China Arnold of Dayton.

Montgomery County’s prosecutor says in a statement that he hopes the high court’s decision closes the case.

Arnold’s attorney didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.

Arnold was sentenced to life in prison without parole in her third trial over the 2005 death of 28-day-old Paris Talley. Ohio’s 2nd District Court of Appeals affirmed Arnold’s 2011 conviction last year.

Arnold’s first trial had ended in a mistrial. She was found guilty in the second trial, but the state appeals court reversed that verdict.
