B.G. woman charged in man’s overdose death

BOWLING GREEN — For allegedly selling the heroin that is thought to have ended a Bowling Green man’s life, a woman has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter.

Tricia A. Miller, 29, had been charged in Bowling Green Municipal Court with trafficking in drugs, but an indictment handed up this week by a Wood County grand jury charges her with involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony, for causing the March 1 death of Daniel Patton, Jr., 30. His death, the indictment states, was the result of Ms. Miller “committing or attempting to commit the felony offense of trafficking in drugs.”

According to municipal court records, she allegedly sold 0.4 grams of heroin to Mr. Patton and another person for $100 March 1 in the 1000 block of Third Street. Mr. Patton died the same day.

An autopsy found that Mr. Patton’s death was accidental because of “morphine toxicity,” according to Wood County Coroner Dr. Douglas W. Hess’ office.
