TIFFIN — A Tiffin man who shot his friend to death while mishandling a loaded gun pleaded guilty Monday to reckless homicide with a firearm specification.

Damien Magers, 22, was then sentenced to three years in prison by Seneca County Common Pleas Judge Michael Kelbley. Magers was given credit for his more than 17 months in the Seneca County jail since his arrest for the Feb. 1, 2013 shooting death of Thomas Nally, 24.

Mr. Nally was shot once in the head at a friend’s house on 4th Avenue. Seneca County Prosecutor Derek DeVine said Magers was intoxicated at the time.
