A second man arrested for a shooting involving an AR-15 rifle pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges after prosecutors said he drove the car during the night in question but did not take part in the shooting.

Rodney Quinn, Jr., 37, of the 1300 block of Goodale Avenue pleaded guilty to obstructing official business, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, and falsification.

Co-defendant Gary Neely, Jr., 38, was sentenced last month to 12 years in prison for felonious assault, receiving stolen property, and having a weapon while under disability. Prosecutors said it was Neely who put the gun in Quinn's vehicle July 8 and asked him to drive that night. Neely later approached Shawn Green, who was asleep in a car, with the intention of robbing him but fired a shot that struck him in the head.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Lindsay Navarre allowed Quinn to be released on electronic monitoring until his sentencing Jan. 8.
